Siloam inherited her music palate from her parents. Her dad loved Jazz and R & B; her mother loved Soul and Classical music. This rich diversity of styles set the stage for her music influences; in the likes of Nina Simone, Earth Wind and Fire, Al Jarreau, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Gino Vanelli, Sting and Marvin Gaye.
RIP Amp Fiddler
Joseph Anthony "Amp" Fiddler was a American singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and record producer from Detroit, Michigan. His musical styles included funk, soul, dance and electronica music. He is probably best known for his contributions to the band Enchantment, and as part of George Clinton’s Parliament and Funkadelic groups from 1985 until 1996. His first solo album Waltz of a Ghetto Fly was released in March 2004. His most recent album, Amp Dog Knights, was released in 2017. Amp’s passing leaves a huge creative void in music and culture that won’t be easily filled.
Marvin Thompson Jr.
Keyboardist, songwriter and producer Marvin Thompson Jr. has been creating music for many years. Growing up in Detroit, Michigan he got his start playing piano for his church choir. Writing music for numerous musicals and short films, Marvin has also released several instrumental projects, including his release, In Focus on the December Sky music label, which features jazz-infused instrumental music. He has served as Musical Director for several stage-plays, including Torn Between Two Loves, and the Plowshares Theatre production of Soulfest and Spunk. He wrote and scored the music for the independent film, Guilty Innocence for the Swift Winds Media production company. Always connected to music, "Royal T" was introduced to world music through her father, a percussionist. It was common to hear "Earth, Wind & Fire", "Carlos Santana", "P-Funk", "Herbie Hancock", "Stevie Wonder", "David Bowie", "Miles Davis", the best of soul, jazz, and pop music continuously as a child in her home. Coupled with her love for hip hop & innovative independent music, her repertoire is quite wide.
Later, becoming a musician of her own, Royal T gained her own personal appreciation of music as a dancer, choreographer, and by picking up a few instruments as well. Years of study and performance broadened her diverse understanding of what stimulates, invigorates & "makes you move"...Transforming her journey through music, from participant and component of a band or dance ensemble, to creator and navigator of the melodic experience.
Royal T is often called to set the mood for distinguished clients and events, new and established businesses, fashion events, "pop-ups", and where the overall inspiration is to simultaneously promote positive excitement, class & movement.
For me, it’s all about enjoyment and enhancing the atmosphere aesthetically...by tapping into several senses: what you hear, see & (most importantly)...feel.
